The first thing you'll need once you decide that you want a Web presence is to register a domain name (Universal Resource Locator, or URL). Of course yourcompany.com would be the ideal website name, but often the best domains are already taken. Do not despair: there are options. If your website is for your business, you might check the .biz domain. For nonprofits, .org is the appropriate top level domain. Or consider adding dashes, underscores, or a country abbreviation to your preferred domain name.
